Chavasse Farm is situated in the quiet village of Hardecourt aux Bois and like all the other villages in the area it was completely destroyed during the First World War. There are numerous cemeteries, memorials and vestiges of the Great War in the immediate surrounding area. Some of the the well known sites such as the Thiepval Memorial, Lochnagar, Ulster Tower and the Newfoundland Memorial Park are only 15 minutes away by car.
